Seguso Vetri d’Arte is pleased to announce the opening of its new flagship showroom at the New York Design Center.
OPENING COCKTAIL – MAY 10th, 5 to 7 pm.
The showroom at 200 Lexington Avenue marks a new milestone in Seguso’s twenty-year presence in the US market, and aims to further strengthen its dialogue with architects, interior designers and developers. Seguso Vetri d’Arte collaborates with some of the most prestigious American design firms through its creativity and know-how for the production of high-end custom projects that interpret Seguso Murano glass in all its uniqueness and preciousness.
The concept for the showroom at 200 Lex, curated by Creative Director, Pierpaolo Seguso, showcases the contemporary spirit and the versatility of the Seguso Vetri d’Arte collections, transposing the modernity of the New York location with the very essence of an artistic tradition that has been handed down generation to generation since 1397. “Our new home in New York is an important step for Seguso as the family and brand moves towards the next 600 years of Murano glass tradition at the highest level,” says Seguso Vetri d’Arte CEO, Gianluca Seguso. “We are fortunate to continue this legacy and are especially grateful for the support of Vernon and Shirley Hill, whose partnership elevates Seguso to be a global leader in the luxury art and decorative glass world and gives new momentum to Murano, the oldest industrial district ever.”
The approximately 1500 square foot showroom will be home to a selection of the most iconic lighting products, objects and furniture, based on cutting edge technical research and stylistic Seguso. Chandeliers, sconces, lamps, accessories, and tables and chairs with glass legs, will highlight the showroom, offering a unique interpretation of one of the oldest decorative traditions in the world.
A grand opening event is planned for May 2016 to coincide with ICFF, an important home furnishings trade show in New York City.
